The Gist
People express their individuality and ideals through the many material objects with which they surround themselves... either on their person (the clothing they wear and the items they carry) or in their homes (the many little ephemera that make up who we are).
Your design challenge is to do one of the following:
- Design a token that expresses your idea in context of someone’s person. Is it an item of clothing? Some patches? A bag, a pair of shoes? You can design on top of an existing form if you wish.
- Design a token that expresses your idea in context of someone’s home. Is it a coffee mug? A magnet? A set of pencils, a magazine rack? Again, you can design on top of an existing form if you wish.
In addition to designing your token, you are responsible for some sort of way in which it can be “housed”. This is NOT a packaging component to the Project... the idea is simply to consider also how the token you create can be both protected and preserved.

- The outcome of this project was defined by each student's concept.
Process
Once again, students were urged to focus on one single aspect of their topic in order to help clarify what kind of item could function both as a badge of individuality for the user and to express the student's topic. Solves came in the form of buttons, blankets, or wallpaper.
